The Victorian-era depicted the lives of the dearly departed through post-mortem photography and ornate symbols that held personal significance on tombstones. A hundred years later, we are mourning the dead by filming funeral processions with GoPro's on caskets, while the living are hosting their own dying parties before they actually depart this earth. Those who die unexpectedly will most likely be memorialized with a makeshift road memorial marking the spot of the deceased, adorned with personal items like hockey sticks, favorite articles of clothing and solar lanterns. i Died explores how technology, personal branding and social media has changed the way in which Canadian's now memorialize life and death.
